Research Focus
One research topic in the field of 5G antennas is focused on design, modeling, manufacturing and characterization of millimeter- and sub-millimeter-wave antenna systems and phased arrays. Novel concepts for the generation, distribution and coupling of high frequency signals have been developed. Integrated and packaged antenna configurations for mm-wave applications in the 5G frequency range have successfully been realized. For energy efficient, high data rate communication “Radio over Fiber”-systems and mm-wave front ends have been designed and demonstrated. Simulation and development of antenna systems for radar and space applications as part of international research projects is a further research area of the chair for RF and Photonics Engineering.
